Therapy for those in the neurodiverse community (adults 18+) (diagnoses not required)
Your neurodiversity doesn't define you. It's one part of the picture of who you are and how you experience the world and it's not the whole picture.
Let's join each other in exploring how your neurodiversity impacts your life and the factors that contribute to the hurdles you experience and the successes you've achieved. Self acceptance and self knowledge can help bring more peace to our inner worlds.
Some approaches I use to help you build capacity and experience growth:
- Narrative Therapy helps you explore the unique stories about who you are and how you came to be where you are.
- CBT Approaches that help you reflect on how your thoughts are impacting your feelings. There can be great power in transforming our thoughts about ourselves, our lives.
- ACT - Connecting with our values, becoming present and opening up.
- How your identity fits into the world, it's systems and how it may sometimes work for us or at other times, interrupt our growth.
- Learning how brains and bodies work and how neurodiverse brains have different needs.
- Exploring the complexities of social relationships (friends, families, partners, children, colleagues) and how our relationships can get muddled if we don't know or understand certain social rules and expectations. With this knowledge we can then choose to participate in these rules or choose to ignore them.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I'd like to acknowledge and thank the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation for being the treaty signatories for this territory, and recognize the Attiwonderonk (Neutral) people who have also called these lands home. I am grateful to the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples who continue to live and work on this land, sharing it and teaching us how to care for it. I commit to working towards reconciliation and a better future. I'd like to personally thank the Grand, Speed, and Eramosa Rivers for providing me with a place to connect to the water and land, providing me with a place to play and cool down. I will work to value these rivers, and keep them clean for myself and generations to come.
